Managing by Network Application

  • Required Time Commitment for Participants

Managing by Network is a six-month, 17-webinar course. It is designed to help participants apply course content to their current position responsibilities associated with partners, permittees and community stakeholders.

Participants should expect to spend approximately 2 hours a week in a live webinar or applying skills learned in the class during this time period.

    • Start Date: January 15 and 16, 2020
    • End Date: June 3 and 4, 2020

    Each session includes:

    • 2 hours of instruction, case study presentations, interactive exercises, and facilitated discussion.
    • Pre-webinar assignments that will take less than an hour to complete. Not every session includes a pre-webinar assignment.

Please note the following participation requirements:

    • Participants should plan on spending 36 contact hours completing the requirements for this course.
    • Participants are required to complete an individual Training Needs Self-Assessment and the course Evaluation; each survey takes about 20-30 minutes.
    • We do not record Managing by Network webinars in order to allow participants to speak freely in the webinar.
    • Participants are required to attend 10 or more live webinars to earn a certificate of course completion. Participants will not receive a certificate by completing self-study in place of attending 10 live webinars.
    • Self-Study materials are provided to support learning and development and allow participants to catch up on missed sessions.

Each of the 17 sessions is offered as a live, 2-hour webinar, in seminar sized groups, at four different times.

    • ALPHA cohort: 11AM Eastern, 10AM Central, 9AM Mountain, 8AM Pacific, 7AM Alaska, 6AM Hawaii
    • BETA cohort: 2PM Eastern, 1PM Central, 12PM Mountain, 11AM Pacific, 10AM Alaska, 9AM Hawaii

    • GAMMA cohort: 11AM Eastern, 10AM Central, 9AM Mountain, 8AM Pacific, 7AM Alaska, 6AM Hawaii
    • DELTA cohort: 2PM Eastern, 1PM Central, 12PM Mountain, 11AM Pacific, 10AM Alaska, 9AM Hawaii

While participants are assigned to a cohort day and time for class size and planning purposes, we expect schedule conflicts. Participants may attend any one of the four webinars in any given week, as best suits their schedule.

Because the Academy observes Daylight Saving Time, class times will change accordingly in March.
