Michelle Donlan, EdD

Michelle is an Education and Training Specialist under the Visitor Services and Outreach Branch within the Division of Training. As a Course Leader, she develops and delivers training mostly within the topics of environmental education, visitor services and outreach, and citizen and community science. 

Prior to NCTC, she was a Park Ranger at Patuxent Research Refuge. She recently graduated with a Doctorate in Education through the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her dissertation work was on science capital and identity to explore the gap between liking science and being a scientist among culturally and ethnically diverse populations. She focused on the factors of sustained meaningful nature experiences and the role of supportive mentors and adults in building science capital.
