Christine Herman

Christine Herman is a Tribal Relations Specialist in the Eastern Region, Forest Service.

Chris joined the Forest Service in 2021 after a long career as an Indian trust land manager for both the BIA in Minnesota and South Dakota, and White Earth tribal government.

A member of the Gros Ventre Tribe of Montana, Chris was raised in Minnesota – a second generation Native American removed from her matriarchal homeland and culture.

Chris lives on the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota with her partner of 23 years, Randy, who is a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe.

She is the mother of two adult sons, and will become a first-time grandmother in May!
