Collaborative Conservation: Partnerships in Practice (C2P2) has been offered in a hybrid and online format. Check back for upcoming course dates and schedule.
A sample schedule (from 2023) is provided for reference.
C2P2 consists of course preparation, an onsite instructional week, an applied learning period, and a final Capstone Webinar and graduation.
Selected course participants provide background information and complete short reading and/or reflection exercises during course preparation. Based on responses, each class member is assigned a peer partner with similar interests and challenges. Peer partners are encouraged to connect prior to the onsite training, where they will engage in multiple pair-share activities and mentoring.
The onsite week includes 4 days of classroom instruction, practitioner presentations, group discussion, applied learning exercises, reflection, and social activities. Instructional content focuses on deepening collaborative practice in areas including adaptive leadership, collaborative process design, trust building, and sustaining partnerships.
Peer learning is central to this seminar-style course. Participants take a very active role, and develop close connections through whole group, small group, and peer partner activities. Class members also engage in mentoring activities with instructors.
Following the onsite week, C2P2 participants apply learning on the job and prepare for their capstone webinar presentation. Participants reconnect with their assigned peer partner to share ideas and feedback about how they are applying learning, and emerging insights, challenges, or opportunities they see for continued growth and partnership practice. Course members develop a brief presentation to share with peers.
Peer Presentations and Graduation:
Course participants reconvene after 2-3 months for the Capstone webinars. Peer partners are assigned to speak at one of the four 2-hour webinars, which also include a graduation ceremony. Capstone webinars are inspirational and evaluative, as class members share their experience applying partnership strategies with peers and instructors.
Capstone presentations are part of C2P2 course completion. Participants are expected to attend and present at one webinar and are also welcome to attend all Capstone webinars.
