Joy Lujan

Joy Lujan spent 16 years as a Community Planner with the National Park Service Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance Program. She received her Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado, Denver and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Joy worked with the National Park Service Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance Program helping communities work together to create visions and reach shared goals through inclusive, collaborative planning efforts involving diverse stakeholders with a wide range of perspectives on natural resource protection and outdoor recreation. 

Joy’s passion is about bringing people together to hear and understand each other and to work together to create solutions that last. Joy helps facilitate a shift in the process by which people have conversations about complex issues and brings the skills of collaboration, shared understanding, respectful dialogue and cooperation to decision-making for successful outcomes. Joy was the lead designer and trainer for National Park Service Collaboration Clinics, a national multi-disciplinary training product designed to help people develop skills for more effective collaboration.
