Jeremiah Martinez

Jeremiah is a 2012 alumnus of Managing by Network. He currently works for the USDA Forest Service as a Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist in Recreation at the Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest. His case study about America’s Great Outdoors made such an impression on the instructors that he was invited to the BLM NTC studio to record and share his story with other students and partners.

Jeremiah’s roots go deep into the San Luis Valley of Colorado, where his family has lived since the mid-1600’s. He studied biology at nearby Adams State University and joined the Forest Service SCEP program eight months before graduation. In 2004 Jeremiah joined the BLM as a Natural Resource Specialist in Rivers and Riparian Systems. Five years later he moved to his current position with the Forest Service. He continues to live and work in the San Luis Valley, surrounded by the beauty of the Sangre de Cristo and San Juan mountain ranges.

In 2012, Jeremiah was presented with the Regional Agent of Change award from the Rocky Mountain Region of the Forest Service, for demonstrated commitment and contributions toward resiliency in response to change.
