With more than 25 years of experience as an attorney working in the federal courts, for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho and for the federal courts themselves, Syrena has addressed many entrenched conflicts. As a mediator, she harnesses this experience, and her experience as a manager and coach, to help parties and counsel through conflicts much more efficiently. Her favorite thing to do is to preclude litigation altogether and work things out before they turn into a federal case, or a state one.

As a facilitator, trainer, and coach, she draws on her long experience as a manager of both the appellate division of the United States Attorney’s Office and the Civil Division, and the Senior Litigation Counsel in charge of training. She has taught national courses to attorneys and staff on a variety of topics and has coached experienced attorneys and fellow managers and executives.
