Benton Keali‘i Pang has been working for the Pacific Islands Fish and Wildlife Office since 1999 and is currently a supervisory biologist for the Conservation Partnerships Team. The programs he oversees include the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program, Coastal Program, Fish Habitat Program and a new cultural liaison position. 

 

He received his Master’s and Ph.D. from the Department of Botany at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and is trained in Hawaiian ethnobotany. 

 

He maintains a close relationship with his native Hawaiian community and currently serves as a Commissioner for the Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission and is President for the O’ahu Council for the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs.
