Mary Chavez Rudolph

Mary Chavez Rudolph is an Ombuds with the U.S. Department of Interior’s Office of Collaborative Action and Dispute Resolution (CADR), located in Washington D.C. She is the dedicated ombuds to the Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Reclamation. She joined the CADR Office in 2017.  

Prior to working in government, Mary served as an ombuds at the University of Colorado (Boulder, Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus) for almost thirteen years. Mary’s role is to assist individuals and groups manage and resolve conflict by providing individual consultation, mediation, facilitating group discussions and providing training about conflict management, collaboration and facilitation. 

Mary served as the President of the University and College Ombuds Association (UCOA) and on the inaugural Board of Directors of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA). Mary earned a doctoral degree in Education and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. She received her mediation training from CDR in Boulder, Colorado.
