Connecting Chickasaw and Choctaw Students to their Ancestral Homelands (and version with notes)
Summary: Running through Mississippi, through the corner of Alabama, and into middle Tennessee, the Natchez Trace Parkway transects the ancestral homelands of the Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Natchez tribes. While expanding educational materials at Natchez Trace Parkway, Park Rangers worked with American Indian students from these tribes to create new resources while connecting the students with their ancestral homeland. This partnership in research and education strengthened ties between the tribes and the NPS.
